After all the years of trying to force love
The one least likely came
After a short while you left
Leaving my world in chaos
You opened the gates to
possibilities I had cut off
And when you left
Made me feel the need
To cut off more then I did before

I suspect this is about a particular person that resides about a hour from you but I'm not sure of the time frame that you wrote this in so I could totally be off... but yet again, alot of your poetry have several indirect meanings so perhaps I should expand my mindframe a bit more before coming to a suspected conclusion. I really like this one. I've spent the last few minutes reflecting on my past encounters and how each of them changed me in a way.
ReplyDeleteYesterday quite soon after this was posted, I read "Rant" by Chuck Palahniuk (I will finish this book!) and there was a quote that answered this poem.
ReplyDelete"Any idea of progress depends on not looking at the past too closely."
Friday night I actually wrote in pen "progress" and "progression" on my skin. So who knows the point.
