not certain of the decline
or western civilization
for ideals
are in the moss
in the swamps

brimming with conceit
reaching for my bottled water
swept away
by anvils

Swamps my Shoes

Rain dries my eyes
and swamps my shoes
hoodie soaked through
grounded near worms
the ocean that once was land
they say it will stop
they say it will end
one day my eyes will run
and these sandels will come out
my head will drip in an instant

You can't drive until October
but my October you'll be gone
